Driving South from Alicante airport towards Torrevieja, you can feel the excitement in the air of being somewhere that is ‘Holiday Time’ or going back to a property you own and where you love to be.

Since the 1960’s millions of people from all over the world have descended on the Orihuela Costa, the ‘White Coast,’ also known as the California of Europe. Although tourism is a thriving industry in Costa Blanca, it is also a place where people have made it their permanent home. A vast majority of the European population of around 90 thousand people are primarily Germans, English, and Scandinavians who own property here.

The World Health Organisation reveres the excellent ‘Micro Climate’ as being one of the healthiest places in the world to live. People love waking up to bright sunny days, the laid-back way of life, and the clean, fresh air generated by the local Salt Lakes (Salinas). General wellbeing is reflected not just by retirees or older people but also by young families giving their children a chance to grow up in a clean and healthy environment. Enjoying the freshest fish, fruit, and vegetables, ‘ The Mediterranean Diet’ all amount to a healthier way of life.

All the beaches in the Orihuela Costa are ‘Award-Winning Blue Flag,’ making the Spanish Authorities very proud. The lowest daytime temperature is around 16c during the winter months, and we boast 320 days of sunshine!!!!!

Reasonably priced restaurants and bars cater to all tastes and nationalities. Gorgeous weather and good food, what more could you ask for?

There are some of the most beautiful Golf Courses in this part of Spain. Most can be busy from September to March, but you won't need to worry about having to squeeze a round in during those months if you live here all year round.

Many of the famous towns are residential and also draw in many holidaymakers. If you think of buying an investment property in the Costa Blanca South or Murcia, it will be very sought after for rental.

The N-332 is a direct road from the airport for any town or village and continues through to Cartagena.

Torrevieja is one of the most popular destinations to either live or own a holiday retreat. All the areas are family orientated. A modern sports centre has been built to include Olympic-sized swimming should you fancy a change from swimming in the sea. Local activities include Fishing, Walking, Mountain Biking, and general Cycling, and there are an array of local gyms to join. Of course, if you live here and love football, you have to support Torrevieja Football Club.

Slightly further along, is Punta Prima with beautiful beaches, Villamartin with a lovely Golf Course. One of the most sought-after areas is La Zenia. Due to the opening a few years ago of a very tastefully built shopping center. A real hive of activity where local families gather to spend the day eating and shopping. There are plenty of the usual High Street shops for visitors from the UK to browse. The center includes a bowling alley and lots of activities for children of all ages. The surrounding properties in these areas are very sought after for rental both during the summer and winter months. There is nothing high rise. Plenty of apartments, villas, and quaint little houses. Best of all, this is all within walking distance of the beach.
